The biggest night in East Kent’s quiz calendar is almost upon us with the Canterbury Heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz. Key partners of the annual fundraising challenge gathered at Kent University to unveil the event and kick-start the campaign for teams to take part.

Max Campbell of Kent Sport at the University of Kent said: “We at Kent Sport are delighted to host the 2017 KM Big Quiz again this year. We will transform the sports hall into a luxurious venue for the quiz. It will be a great place to hold what we hope to be a record-breaking year for the event.”

Famed for its challenging question rounds and friendly but fierce competition, the KM Big Quiz continues to increase in popularity. On Friday, 21 April the Canterbury heat will see more than 40 teams battling it out to win the crown.

Moray Neame of long-standing supporter Shepherd Neame is excited to get proceedings underway. “If you would like to enter the quiz this year all you have to do is find eight willing team members to come and enjoy the evening and come up with a wacky name that maybe relates to your business, or local area or your pub.”

This year the event will support the League of Friends at Canterbury Hospital, the children’s literacy and road safety services of the KM Charity Team, as well as the Kentish Gazette’s charity of the Year, Motor Neurone Disease Association East Kent.

Clive Hudson of Motor Neurone Disease Association praised the quiz adding: “Funds raised on the night will be used to support people living with MND across East Kent, and some of it may also be used for research for a cure to this dreadful disease.”

As well as testing their general knowledge skills and having fun with friends and colleagues, quizzers will enjoy table wine and a selection of delicious treats, as well as the opportunity to win some fantastic individual prizes throughout the night.

Tickets are now available for the giant wine and wisdom evening staged at Kent University Sports Hall. With tables priced at just £65 for eight team members, plus an additional £10 reduction when applying booking code CANT17, that means you can enjoy a great evening for less than £7 a head.

Key partners Shepherd Neame and Barclays will provide a charity bar, whilst members of the League of Friends of Kent and Canterbury Hospital will be supplying the food for the event. Other partners backing the quiz include Armadillo Self Storage, IMP Event Production, Eurostar, Hornby, and University of Kent Sport.
