Accountants are swapping budgets for brainteasers at the KM Maidstone Big Charity Quiz.
Day Smith and Hunter (DSH), a firm of chartered accountants and business advisors, is supporting the popular wine and wisdom event.
Mr Startup, partner at DSH, said: “We are pleased to be involved with the KM Big Charity Quiz, not only with sponsorship but by actively taking part in it. The quiz is one event in the firm’s social calendar where we can always rely on a good turnout from staff. We are looking forward to this year’s battle of wits.”
Funds raised will go towards three worthy causes in the district including this paper’s Charity of the Year the SECAMB Community First Responders. The charity’s volunteers offer their spare time to be available for selected 999 calls to help other members of the community.
A share of the proceeds will also go to Maidstone Girls’ Grammar School PFA, and the children’s road safety work of the KM Charity Team.
The star raffle prize is a Pop Party Recording Experience worth £200. The prize allows a group of up to eight children to have a party to remember by recording their own songs onto personalised CDs.
Other prizes up for grabs include classic toys and collectables from Hornby, and £250 in cash with the KM Cash Builder.
Event organiser Dominic Comins, of the KM Charity Team, said: “With brainteasers, banter and big prizes to be won, the Quiz can’t be beaten for a team-building night out.”
He added: “The Big Quiz is raising money for three amazing charities and the more quiz teams we have, the more these causes will benefit. So don’t be shy, book your team today and start swotting up on your general knowledge.”
The KM Big Quiz is on Friday, June 20 at Maidstone Leisure Centre at Mote Park. For more information and to book your place, visit www.kmbigquiz.co.uk and click on ‘Event booking’. Use the booking code MABQEB2014 to get a £10 discount and a free bottle of wine on the night for your team.
