The award ceremony will be staged as part of the annual KM Charity Forum, an annual event with workshops led by top speakers aimed at supporting the charitable and education sectors on a range of key topics.

Last year more than 200 organisations attended this free event at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel, Maidstone.

For the charitable sector speakers include grant expert Rebecca Smith whose team generated revenue of more than a £1m for Social Enterprise Kent in the last 12 months. Sessions for the education sector include national literacy expert Emily Guille-Marrett who will help teachers and literacy leaders make reading rock in the classroom.

A session will also be held to brief charities and good causes on how best to write their application to be KM Charity of the Year. Each KM editor will pick a cause to champion in 2018 and fine-tuning an application to increase the chance of success is a key part of the session.

Charities and good causes will discover if they have been named as one of the 50 causes to receive the KM Charity Mark at an award ceremony before the six workshop sessions begin.

Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team said: “Revealing who the causes are that will receive the KM Charity Mark is always a highlight of the year for the sector. Come along and see if your cause is named a winner.”

The event is being staged on Friday, October 13 and is supported by Kreston Reeves accountants, Jelf from the insurance sector and the Mercure Great Danes Hotel. Tickets for the KM Charity Forum are free but must be booked online at www.kmcharityteam.co.uk or click this link HERE.
