Battle of the brainiacs will begin tomorrow (Friday, November 17) from 7pm at the KM Big Charity Quiz – will you be at the trivia challenge event of the year?

Quizzers will compete at Maidstone Leisure Centre for the KM Big Quiz trophy and a place in the county final. Among them will be eggheads including the Medway Mail and Females team who missed out on the top spot by just two points last year losing out to Supernova.

Organised by the KM Charity Team the evening will feature a bumper raffle with Hornby collectables among the prizes up for grabs. One quiz-goer will be selected to answer an on-the-spot quiz question to win a luxury spa day for two.

The Spitfire charity bar will have a range of refreshments supplied by Shepherd Neame and Barclays bank will match all money raised on the night to ensure a welcome payout for charity.

Other businesses backing the popular wine and wisdom night include IMP Event Productions and accountancy practice Wilkins Kennedy. The latter firm, which has offices in Maidstone, Ashford, Canterbury, Sandwich, and Orpington, is also submitting a team on the night.

Mike Startup from Wilkins Kennedy said: “We are delighted to support the Big Quiz again in Maidstone - in fact, this is our 10 anniversary - and we’re really looking forward to it.”

Funds raised will be shared between the Kent Messenger newspaper’s charity of the year, Leybourne Grange Riding School for the Disabled, and school services supporting road safety and literacy.
