Join in just for fun or to raise funds for any good cause of your choice.

Matthew Green of Vattenfall, operator of the Kentish flats and Thanet offshore windfarms, will be dusting off his saddle for the Bike Ride for the third year in a row.

He said: “There’s a lot of camaraderie - cyclists are a chatty bunch - and you get into the company of others of a similar ability or better. You get involved and you’re swept along by the event.

“If you’ve got a bike or are thinking of getting a bike it’s ideal. I would say just sign up and you won’t regret it.”

The KM Big Bike Ride is being staged on Sunday, April 26 at the BayPoint Club in Sandwich. Riders can select one of two circular routes - 50km or 100km - along East Kent coastline and countryside.

A bicycle mechanic from Locks of Sandwich Cycles will be on hand to fix bike related issues at the event.

On the same day BayPoint is hosting a free Green Travel Festival which Bike Ride participants and supporters are invited to attend.

Julia Williamson of the KM Big Bike Ride said: “Thanks to our key partner Vattenfall we are able to stage this brilliant day out where leisure cyclists rub shoulders with sportive riders and everyone has a great time.”

To book, visit www.kmbigbikeride.co.uk and get £5 off the price with the code KMPRBB15. Riders must be aged 16 or over.
