KM Charity 2017 Year of Reading logo

The entire Kent community can be a part of KM Group’s campaign to make 2017 a Year of Reading.

The aim is to help foster a love of reading and spark ideas for you, your friends, club, school or place of work.

Kent Literacy Awards - initiatives that develop children’s reading, writing, speaking or listening skills should be nominated through this annual awards event.

Selected winners will have their work turned into a video showcase.

Whether your school has a fantastic book week, great ways to encourage reading through IT or imaginative writing competitions, we want to hear about it.

Books are something social - a writer speaking to a reader - so I think making the reading of a book the centre of a social event, the meeting of a book club, is a brilliant idea

Literacy Stars - Individual pupils or groups of children have the chance to be named a Literacy Star and earn themselves a limited edition Literacy Stars T-shirt by taking on a project to promote reading, writing, speaking or listening skills in their school, club or Surestart centre.

Our pack has great ideas to use, or dream up your own.
