THERE are almost 100 vacancies in Gravesend leading up to Christmas and job seekers can get in first at an event this month.

Towncentric, the partnership between Gravesham Borough Council and town centre businesses, is promoting a two-day Christmas Recruitment Fair in association with the Gravesend Employment Service and leading stores.

It will be at Gravesend's Towncentric visitor centre in the St George's Shopping Centre from 10am to 5pm on Friday, September 20 and 9.30am to 3.30pm on Saturday, September 21.

The fair will display jobs on offer over the Christmas period. The stores taking part in the initiative are Argos, Comet, Debenhams and Woolworths.

As well as vacancies on display, job seekers coming to the Recruitment Fair will be able to register their details and availability on a special database, from which all companies will be able to recruit staff.
