Car crashes into tree on Hythe Road, Dymchurch

An elderly man has been taken to hospital today after a car crashed into a tree.

Police were called at 11.13am on Sunday to the A259 Hythe Road, Dymchurch following reports of the crash.

Witnesses say that there were at least two ambulances, two fire engines and police at the scene.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene shortly before 11.30am. Crews used a special winch to remove the car, where it had crashed into bushes.

The driver of the vehicle has been taken to a local hospital.

His injuries are not known at this stage although witnesses said he was being treated for a head wound at the scene.

There are traffic delays along Dymchurch between the Redoubt and New Beach Holiday Park.
