The police have just left the scene of a major crash where a 4x4 Volkswagen car ploughed into a pub.
The incident happened at 3.17pm in New Romney High Street, where the silver vehicle is believed to have accelerated through a low brick wall of a car park before hitting the opposite building.
There were no serious injuries reported and the car has since been recovered.
Eyewitnesses said on Facebook that officers were diverting traffic while the incident was being dealt with.
The car crashed into a small part of the Cinque Port Arms pub.
The pub is remaining open and the smash has caused minor damage to its exterior.
