Fire alongside Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway in Greatstone

Firefighters were called to deal with a small fire alongside a railway line.

Crews tackled the fire in the grass on an embankment next to the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway line.

They used portable water tanks with spray and beaters to extinguish the fire in Merritt Road, Greatstone this afternoon.

One fire engine was sent and firefighters were at the scene for just over half an hour following the call at 1.45pm.
