Man dies after medical incident in van on A259 near New Romney

A man in his 50s has died after police and ambulance crews were called to a "medical incident" in a van.

Emergency services were sent to the A259 near New Romney just after 6am today.

Dymchurch Road was closed in both directions between St Mary's Road and the Marlie Holiday Park while crews dealt with the incident.

The closure caused delays in the area, but the road has since reopened.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a medical incident in a van on the A259 near New Romney at 6.10am on Saturday 4 February 2023.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man in his 50s was pronounced deceased.

"A report will be prepared for the coroner."
