Man fighting for life after crash at Dymchurch Road, St Mary's Bay, between two Peugeots

Kent Police need witnesses after a driver was gravely injured in a crash at St Mary’s Bay.

Officers today (Sunday) said that the victim's condition in hospital remained critical.

Police were called at 7.40pm on Friday to a head-on collision between a blue Peugeot 306 and a grey Peugeot 308 on the A259, Dymchurch Road.

The driver of the Peugeot 306, a 43 year-old man, received life threatening injuries and was taken to a London hospital in a serious condition. The other driver was unhurt.

Fire crews attended and used hydraulic cutting equipment and hand tools to release the victim who was trapped. They were at the scene for an hour.

The road was closed for a number of hours.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit want to speak to any witnesses who saw the collision, or either vehicle in the moments leading up to it.
