Fashion show at Sir Roger Manwood's School to raise cash for Teenage Cancer Trust

A selection of trendy outfits will be modelled by sixth form students from Sir Roger Manwood’s at a fashion show this Friday.

The event goes ahead at the Sandwich school from 7pm and is raising cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The annual show raised more than £900 last year and it is hoped this figure can be topped to help provide specialist cancer wards for treating young cancer sufferers.

Four Year 13s, Eva Irvine, Freya Bullard, Dash Eyles and Andrew Perry, have accepted the challenge of organising it, which has involved reaching out to the community for support.

The show will see a range of suits and party wear jackets on show.

The outfits, which include bridal and bridesmaid gowns, have been provided by Allan Hughes Dover, and the Crystal Fairy Company in Birchington.

They will be modelled by 16 A-level students in Years 12 and 13.

There will also be an interval where pupils will play live music, refreshments will be served and later a raffle will take place.

Prizes such as clothing, a meal, bingo, cinema tickets, ferry crossings and coffee vouchers have been provided by district-wide businesses.

Tickets for the show can be bought from the school’s reception in Manwood Road.

It is £6 for students and £8 for adults.

Miss Irvine said: “We hope the event will be a huge success in raising as much money as possible for our chosen cause and will be an enjoyable night for both members of the school and the public.”
