Sandwich Christmas light switch on 2015 includes entertainment and lantern parade

Sandwich has come alive with music and festive fun at the Christmas light switch-on and carnival today.

Sandwich Community Lights Committee has organised the day's events.

A Christmas craft fair is be open at the Guildhall from 10am until 5pm.

Eric’s Canine Clobber will be adding to the stalls with dog accessories and treats with 10% of all profits going to Battersea Dogs Trust.

Santa has been in his grotto at the Guildhall from 11am.

This year’s headline acts will be Gentlemen of Few and Sam Mummery, who are well known on the east Kent folk scene.

Entertainment will start at 3pm including Mr Rock ‘n’ Roll Aaron Ritchie, Bettesteiner Footstompers, the Kent Based Bavarian Oompah Band, and DJs Johnny Lewis and Kevin Mann from Coastal Radio.

The lantern parade will start at 6pm and the lights will be turned on at 7pm by Gentlemen of Few in the Guildhall Forecourt.
