Discovery Park in Sandwich pledges support to help bring Magna Carta home

Discovery Park in Sandwich has pledged its support in helping to bring the Magna Carta back to the town.

The enterprise zone in Ramsgate Road is helping the Mercury and the town council with its appeal in bringing the historic document, and the Charter of Forest, back to the medieval town.

The Visit Kent exhibition has now started in Faversham and will be making its way to Sandwich in September where all the Magna Carta documents, including the one belonging to Sandwich Town Council will be showcased.

Kimberley Anderson, Discovery Park’s corporate relations manager, said: “There is definitely a real passion for bringing this treasured part of local history back to its rightful home in Sandwich and we are working hard to promote the campaign.

“We are hoping that our tenants and other members of our community will come on board to support, raise funds and raise awareness.”

This could include a fundraising or celebration event, donations to the town council from businesses or individuals, or school and community group support.

There are many opportunities to get involved and the Mercury will report more as they happen.
