New look play area at The Butts in Sandwich thanks to investment from Dover District Council

Children are enjoying the new-look play area at The Butts in Sandwich after £13,000 investment.

Dover District Council provided the funding through its Special Project reserve.

The new equipment includes a zip wire, basket swing, wooden trail unit and a play panel. Surfacing works to improve existing equipment was also completed.

Cllr Trevor Bartlett, DDC cabinet member for property management said: “In delivering these improved facilities we recognise the importance of outdoor play for children’s development. As part of the old town boundary, The Butts is a popular part of Sandwich to explore so we’re particularly delighted to extend the family appeal of this area.”

The play equipment was designed and installed by contractors HAGS SMP as part of a major investment to The Butts, Sandwich, and Colton Crescent, Dover, as well as a new play area for the community in Aycliffe, Dover.
