First ever Booze and Blues festival at Admiral Owen, High Street, Sandwich

The Admiral Owen pub in Sandwich is gearing up for its first Booze and Blues Festival this Bank Holiday weekend.

Starting today (Sunday) at noon, there will be a host of beers from local breweries, including Time and Tide from Deal, the Wantsum Brewery and Gadds in Thanet.

Barman Ben Jakob, who is organising the event at the High Street pub, said: “There will be live music with the Midnight Crawlers and more acts to be confirmed.”

The event is in its first year and similar festivals like Le Weekend every June, Folk & Ale festival in July and the Sandwich Festival in August continue to thrive.

Music starts at the Booze and Blues Festival on Sunday, from 7.30pm, and there will be an open blues session on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.

Monday night’s bands includes Ollie and Gabby, performing acoustic blues.
