The body of a pensioner missing for seven months has been found by a railway worker on Boxing Day.

Detectives launched a search for 80-year-old Ken Henson who had been missing from his Sevenoaks home since May.

Police officers are now carrying out inquiries following the discovery of a body in the Clarendon Road area of Sevenoaks.

The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and while the body has not yet been formally identified, the family of missing person Ken Henson have been informed.

Mr Henson, 80, from Sevenoaks, was last seen on the evening of Thursday, May 25.

The body was discovered by a railway worker on the bank near Sevenoaks Railway Station at about 11.25am on Boxing Day.

The search for Mr Henson originally focused on the area around the father-of-two's Oakhill Road home.

A CCTV image from the Shell garage at Tubs Hill, up the road from where the 80-year-old lived, suggests he was in the store on Friday, May 26.

It is not known where he went after leaving the store, but was thought he's wearing the same clothes.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service's drone was seen scouring Sevenoaks Nature Reserve on Saturday, May 27.

Officers conceded in November during a renewed appeal that the likelihood was that Mr Henson had sadly died.
