Sevenoaks residents, communities and businesses are running out of time to enter the District's big gardening competition.

Any residential garden, community green space or business green area is welcome to enter - all spots which are helping to make Sevenoaks a greener place to live.

The competition is made up of three categories; residential, commercial and community.

There are a number of sub categories including most original planted pot, trough or hanging basket, the best community environmentally-friendly project and lastly the most attractive shop or business front.

The event is run in association with Coolings Nurseries in Knockholt. Each contestant is given a free £5 voucher to spend at the nurseries.

Community Portfolio holder Cllr Roddy Hogarth said: “This is the District’s first In Bloom competition and it’s a great way of shouting about all the flora and fauna within the District.

"Entries must be received by Friday so make sure you apply in time.”

Judging will take place in July and August with winners being announced at an awards ceremony at Coolings Nurseries in September.

Top winners will be receiving £25, second place receiving £10 and £5 going to third place.
