Drivers were warned of delays after a car burst into flames on a busy motorway.

Two lanes of the M25 were blocked and traffic reported to be slow on the M25 clockwise between junction 5 for the M26 and Sevenoaks, and junction 6 for Godstone.

The blaze, which happened on the hard shoulder, was quickly put out by fire crews.

Drivers were reportedly causing queues in the anticlockwise carriageway, by slowing down to look at the burning vehicle.

All lanes had reopened by 3.30pm but delays remained.
