Edenbridge: Appeal after delivery driver assaulted and van stolen in Springfield Road

Police are appealing for witnesses after a delivery driver was assaulted.

The man had stopped in Springfield Road, Edenbridge to drop off a package around 10am on Friday, May 19.

Another man is reported to have opened the passenger door, where he then punched the victim in the head before trying to push him out of the van.

The driver got out of the van and noticed a blue Ford Focus had pulled up in front of his vehicle.

The Ford driver then approached the victim, and before the van driver could remove his keys from the ignition, he was pushed to the ground.

The man then got into the van, and both it and the Focus were driven away while the victim was left. He suffered cuts and grazes to his hip and elbow.

Officers later found the van abandoned in Water Lane, Haxted. A number of packages were found in a nearby field, and the victim's wallet, mobile phone, and dash cam were missing from the van.

Both suspects are described as white and between 24 and 28 years old. One of the men is believed to be around 5ft 7ins, of medium build with mousey brown hair.

He was wearing a black and grey tracksuit top, black tracksuit bottoms, and black gloves.

The second man, who was wearing blue jeans and black gloves, is described to be of medium build, and around 5ft 5ins tall.
