Emergency services at the scene of high street crash in Seal

Emergency services were called to a crash in High Street Seal.

It is believed a car collided with a street lamp at around 6am this morning.

Fire crews stabilised the car while paramedics assessed the driver. Hydraulic rescue equipment was then used to release him into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service.

The road will remain closed whilst power, overhead cables and utility apparatus is made safe and to recover vehicles involved in the incident.

Kent County Council Highways are also attending where the road is closed in both directions.

Firefighters left the scene just before 8am.

Police spokesman Andy Saunders said: "Kent Police was called at 6.40am on March 11 after a car collided with a lamp post on the A25 in Seal.

"A man was taken to hospital with injuries, which are not believed to be serious.

"The collision left the lamp post overhanging the road and Highways have been notified.

"Road closures were enforced."
