Sevenoaks: Firefighters tackle blaze in meadow in Bat and Ball Road

Firefighters have tackled a large blaze which broke out in a Sevenoaks meadow.

Crews were called to the grassland in Bat and Ball Road just before 5pm yesterday.

Large plumes of smoke were visible from miles around the site. The fire ripped through around four acres of grass and undergrowth.

The field is not accessible by road so firefighters used beaters to tackle the flames.

Crews remained on scene damping down until 7.30pm.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
