One lane was initially closed to allow police and ambulance crews to attend but officers made the decision to stop all motorists.

All lanes have now been reopened after traffic was held for just over 15 minutes near to the entry slip road of the services between J5 and J6. This was to allow the vehicles involved to be removed from lane four.

All restrictions were reportedly lift at 4pm but conditions were not helped by an earlier breakdown on the same stretch of road.
