M26 delays near Wrotham Heath and Sevenoaks

Miles of tailbacks caused by a broken down crane on the M26 have now cleared.

One lane was shut for almost eight hours and traffic queued for seven miles at one point.

The west-bound carriageway between J2a for the A20 at Wrotham Heath and J5 of the M25 for Sevenoaks was affected.

The crane was pulled over onto the hard shoulder, but one lane was shut for safety reasons from around 3.30am.

The crane has now been removed and traffic is back to normal.
