Sevenoaks District Council plans to sell plots in Croft Road, Westerham and build new homes

Sevenoaks District Council has announced plans to sell two plots of land and build 15 new homes.

A 1.9 acre site in Croft Road, Westerham, is on the market for offers in the region of £3 million.

The sale would generate income for the council to put towards new investments.

The plots, which are outside of the Green Belt, are earmarked for new housing in the district's planning policies.

The policy also includes guidance to retain many of the trees on the land, as well as local footpaths.

The area is described as being suitable for a low density development of around 15 new family homes.

Cllr Peter Fleming, leader of the council, said: “As the new Government tackles the deficit, it’s inevitable that councils will receive much less funding in future.

"However we are taking steps now to manage this reduction in income by using our assets to generate new streams of income, helping us to continue to provide the high quality services our residents expect of us.

“The provision of new homes is a further bonus as we look to meet the housing needs of the District”.

Interested parties have until 24 June to submit their bids for the site. Further information can be found on the RPC Land and New Homes website or by following this link www.rpclandandnewhomes.co.uk/land-for-sale/land-at-croft-road-westerham-kent-tn16-1ry/
