Sevenoaks motorcyclist killed in crash on A2 near Kidbrooke interchange named as Christopher Muir

A Sevenoaks motorcyclist killed in a crash on the A2 has today been named as Christopher Muir.

The 42-year-old died after his bike hit the central reservation on the Kent-bound carriageway near the Kidbrooke interchange in south London.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the fatal smash, at about 5.30pm on Thursday.

An air ambulance and paramedics were called to the scene, but Mr Muir was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination will take place at Greenwich mortuary tomorrow.

Both carriageways of the A2 were closed after the crash and commuters suffered long delays.

Witnesses are asked to phone the Metropolitan Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8285 1574, 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.
