Fire at two houses in Knockholt, near Sevenoaks

Fire crews remain at the scene of a large fire stretching across two houses.

Six engines were despatched to tackle the blaze in Harrow Road, Knockholt, near Sevenoaks.

More than 20 firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used main jets and hose reels to surround the fire.

A height vehicle has also been used after crews were called at 8.51am.

Two casualties were treated at the scene after breathing in smoke before being passed onto ambulance teams.

No one required hospital treatment.

A dog was rescued from one of the properties and was given oxygen at the scene with a specialist pet oxygen mask, before being taken to a vet.

One house was severely damaged by fire and heat but crews managed to stop the blaze spreading further than the roof of the neighbouring property.

Firefighters are continuing to salvage premises and damp down remaining hotspots.

Road closures were in place at Harrow Road and the junction with Park Road.

Kent Police are also at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
