Sevenoaks Town Council approached to consider temporary car parking during Buckhurst 2 construction

Sevenoaks Town Council has been approached to consider allowing temporary car parking on sites around the district to mitigate the shortfall in long stay car parking during the construction phase of the decked Buckhurst 2 car park.

Sevenoaks District Council has requested that town councillors consider temporary parking on the Vine Waste and at Knole Paddock during construction.

Town councillors initially considered the proposals in August when information was requested by the district council.

The additional information requested by district councillors was:

  • Traffic management and safety assessment for both sites
  • Details of how tree roots on the site would be protected on the Vine Waste
  • Details of surfacing requirements on the Vine Waste

The Town Council resolved that members of the public should be given the opportunity to give their views on the proposals before they are considered by the Planning Committee.

A report will be considered by the Sevenoaks Town Council Planning Committee on Monday, September 15 and the views of local residents are invited.
