Biker badly hurt in crash on A249 on Sheppey taken to King's College Hospital in London

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash on the A249 on Sheppey last night.

The man came off his bike near the roundabout outside Morrisons near Queenborough at about 11.20pm.

He has been taken to King's College Hospital, in London, for injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Emergency services were called to the Sheerness-bound carriageway.

A section of the road was closed in both directions until about 2.20am.

Police said there was also damaged to the central reservation, but no other vehicles were involved.
