Sheppey Crossing reopens following accident involving Ford Puma

The Sheppey Crossing has now reopened following an accident.

A Ford Puma is believed to have spun out of control before hitting the central reservation on the Sittingbourne-bound lane just before the bridge.

Traffic was being diverted along Swale Way and across the Kingsferry Bridge following the incident, which happened at 3.45pm.

The woman driver is said to be suffering neck and back pain and a child, age unknown, is believed to have banged its head.

A recovery vehicle was at the scene and Kent Highways also atteneded to remove leaked fuel from the road.
