Chopper called in after caravans damaged

A search was launched after youths attempted to break into caravans in Leysdown last night.

The police helicopter was called to Priory Hill Caravan Park, Wing Road, after two homes were targeted.

A spokesman for the site said: "We got reports of an alarm going off at 10.15pm.

"Some youths had tried to force entry into a couple of caravans and we informed the police."

Officers were called at 10.54pm and the helicopter arrived at 11.05pm.

No valuables were taken and the homes were empty at the time, although the estimated cost of damage to the windows is between £200 to £300.
