Sheerness market traders plan for Christmas

Market traders hope to bring some festive cheer to the Island.

The Sheerness Market Traders’ Cooperative, which runs the Tuesday and Saturday markets, wants to add two seasonal sessions during Christmas week.

Toy stallholder Justin Healey said: “We’d like to run the market on Wednesday, December 23 and Thursday, December 24.”

The usual Saturday market would be closed on Boxing Day and January 2.

Stallholders will be taking their goods into the High Street on Saturday, December 5 for the Sheerness Town Team’s second annual Christmas market, lantern parade and Christmas lights switch-on.
