Fire crews battle barn blaze

Fire has broken out in a barn - nine days after another was set alight in a suspected arson attack.

Three pumps are currently fighting the blaze at New Hook Farm, Lower Road, Minster, after being called at 4.51pm.

Three more are en route to the scene.

Supplies of water and a vehicle to provide height are also on their way.

The cause is not yet known.

On Saturday, December 8, £45,000 worth of baled hay was set alight at Neats Court Farm, Queenborough Road, Queenborough.

Reporting from the area, the Times Guardian's @lewis_dyson said: "The firefighters are currently moving bales of hay out of the way.

"There are several fire engines on the scene and more emergency service people arriving all the time.

"The air is thick with smoke so I would image a lot of residents in Eastchurch and Minster will be affected.

"It looks like a very large incident, very similar to the Queenborough fire."
