Firefighters tackle large barn fire in Queenborough

Fire crews have returned to the scene of a large barn blaze which ignited yesterday.

Three fire engines were called to the barn shortly after 2.30pm on Thursday but have been back this morning.

Two teams of firefighters visited the farm land again in Queenborough this morning, where a small amount of the 30 bales of hay originally alight were still smouldering.

The barn, which is 25 metres by 10 metres in size, was thought to have been alight for some time before emergency services arrived.

Crews were stationed at the land until nearly 6pm last night after three fire engines were called there.

It's not known what started the blaze.
