Gran’s eye socket fractured in brutal unprovoked attack in Minster on Sea

A gran has described the moment she was left with a fractured eye socket after being attacked by three men and a woman.

Londoners Debbie Green and her partner James were visiting her sister Vikki and boyfriend Ben over the weekend when the incident occurred.

They had spent the night indoors watching television before going to The Harps Inn, Minster Road, at about 9.15pm on Saturday.

After spending three hours inside they decided to leave and walk the 400 metres back to Ms Green’s sister’s home off Harps Avenue but, as they made their way, the four were attacked.

"I felt the blood in my eye immediately after I was punched; my face went cold"

Ms Green said: “I was hit from behind and pushed to the floor.

“It was three blokes and one woman and she went for my partner.

“They were punching and kicking me on the ground.

“I felt the blood in my eye immediately after I was punched; my face went cold.

“After a few minutes, everything stopped and there was a small crowd, but I couldn’t really tell if any of them were our attackers or not.”

Emergency services attended the incident at 12.30am and Ms Green was transferred by ambulance to Medway Maritime Hospital.

The 44-year-old has no idea why they were targeted.

The mum-of-one added: “I still can’t believe it when I keep going over it in my head.

“My eye has been seriously injured and still requires treatment.”

A police spokesman confirmed they are looking to speak to speak to anyone involved or who witnessed the incident.
