Queenborough Harbour Trust unveils pontoon to help boost tourism on Sheppey

Glasses of champagne were raised to toast the official public viewing of a new seafront facility, which is hoped will give Sheppey a tourism boost.

The 60-metre pontoon in Queenborough was unveiled by Queenborough Harbour Trust on Wednesday last week.

Guests enjoyed a lunch at the Flying Dutchman in the High Street before they were given a tour of the asset.

The floating platform provides ship-to-shore access to the town and could bring around 20 much needed additional moorings for visiting boats.

The facilities are part of a £300,000 project funded by central government.
