Major search in Minster, Sheerness, after beach find

A search involving land, sea and air emergency services was carried out in Minster this morning after initial concerns for the welfare of a person.

Police were called to Imperial Avenue, Minster, at 8.23am, after a passerby found some personal belongings on the beach nearby.

A search of the area was commenced after fears they may have belonged to a vulnerable person.

The coastguard and a police helicopter were called to assist officers but he owner of the items was found safe and well at 10am.
