Leysdown man charged with attempted rape and stalking

A man has appeared in court after being charged with attempted rape and stalking.

Officers investigating an attempted rape on Sheppey arrested Kevin O'Driscoll and charged him with five offences.

The offences are reported to have taken place on Monday at a private address.

The following morning O'Driscoll was arrested in Leysdown Road, Leysdown.

He has been charged with attempted rape, sexual assault, knowingly/ recklessly trespassing on a premises with intent to commit a sexual offence, stalking involving serious alarm/ distress and assault.

The 48-year-old, of Leysdown, was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today.

At this hearing he was remanded and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, June 28.
