Man bailed on suspicion of dangerous driving after St Helens Road Sheerness crash

A 55-year-old man has been bailed by police after a suspected hit and run crash which left another man in hospital with serious injuries.

It follows a collision in St Helen's Road, Sheerness at just after 7pm on July 13, when a man was hit by a car.

The victim, in his forties, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police appealed for information about the vehicle, described as a 4x4, as the driver was believed to have not stopped following the collision.

Following the appeal a 55-year-old man from Sheerness was arrested on Sunday, July 17, on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.

He has been bailed until Friday, October 14, while officers continue their enquiries.
