Police were called after a man was allegedly assaulted in a village street.
It is said to have happened on Coronation Drive in Leysdown at around 4.20pm.
Witnesses reported seeing four police vehicles at the scene.
A police spokesman said: "A man was arrested in connection with it and currently remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident."
