Gary Booth charged with stabbing man in Sheerness High Street

A man has been sent for trial after being charged with knifing another man in the chest.

Homeless Gary Booth, 30, was arrested on Sunday and later charged with causing GBH with intent following an alleged stabbing in Sheerness High Street last Thursday.

He appeared before Medway magistrates yesterday.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, September 21.

The alleged attack happened between Maple Street and Halfway Road at about 3.30am.

A man in his 20s was taken to a London hospital from where he was released this week.

A 20-year-old Sheerness man who was arrested after the stabbing has been released without charge.

A 36-year-old, also from Sheerness, was also arrested in connection with the incident.

He has been released on bail until September 12.
