Michael Furnell, 22, of Pearl House in Sheerness Broadway, charged following burglary of Jet Petrol Station in Acorn Street

A man has been charged with the burglary of a petrol station, assaulting a police officer and possession of cannabis.

It happened in Acorn Street at the Jet Petrol Station on Friday at 10.50pm after it was reported to police that tyres were being stolen.

Michael Furnell, 22, of Pearl House in Sheerness Broadway, was arrested along with another 21-year-old man who was later released and given a caution.

Furnell has been bailed to appear before Maidstone magistrates on Wednesday, August 9.
