Man cut from car after accident at the junction of Winstanley Road and Alma Road, Sheerness

A man has been taken to hospital after a 4x4 and a van collided this morning.

The casualty had to be cut from his car by firefighters following the incident on the junction of Winstanley Road and Alma Road, Sheerness, around 9.55am.

An ambulance and paramedic car were in attendance and police closed off the road at the junction with Berridge Road until 11.10am.

The patient was suffering from injuries to his arm and neck which a South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said were not life-threatening.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham.

The vehicles involved were a Daewoo Musso and a Ford Transit.
