He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment.

A 25-year-old man from Sheerness has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.

A witness, who didn’t want to be named, said the alleyway next to Digital Aerial and Satellite Services in the High Street near McDonald’s was taped off last night.

He said a man, believed to be East European and living in a flat above the parade of businesses opposite the old Bar One pub, was seen being helped into a waiting ambulance “covered in blood”.

Police confirmed officers were “making inquiries to establish how the injury came about”.

It follows social media reports the man had been stabbed.
