The Admiral' Arms in Queenborough wins CAMRA award

It’s one of the smallest pubs in Kent – but The Admiral’s Arm in Queenborough is also one of the best, according to members of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra).

The micropub in Trafalgar Court, opened five months ago and is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Chris and Rachel Collier from Minster. It is the Island’s second micropub.

It was named Swale Camra Cider pub of the year, and was runner-up in the organisation’s -of-the-year category.

A Camra spokesman sent congratulations to the pub and its team.

Mr Collier, 58, said: “I think it is a fantastic achievement in such a short time, and Rachel and myself would like to thank our family and all of our friends old and new for their continued support.

“We would also like to thank all of the people who worked tirelessly to help us build the pub, without whom we would not have been as successful as we have been, and hopefully will continue to be.

“And we can’t forget to thank the members of Swale Camra for their help and support.”
