A former Minster College pupil is living the Bollywood dream.

Molly Wilson, of Holmside Avenue, Halfway, has travelled to India to fulfil her long-burning ambition of becoming a professional dancer.

For the past three weeks, the 20-year-old has been based in Mumbai and her moves have already featured in two films.

She has also made her group dancing debut on national TV as part of Bigg Boss, the Indian version of Big Brother.

Molly, who has worked part-time at Tesco in Sheerness, is on a six-month assignment to Asia which will also take her to Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok.

Her small-screen premiere took place on Sunday and could be seen on the Rishtey channel, which can be found on Sky channel 831.

Molly’s dad Rob, 47, was among those watching from afar.

He said: “She’s trained really hard for this, so hopefully she’s now starting to realise her dreams.

“All the family are really proud of her and although we’re missing her, she’s a smart girl and we know she’ll make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

Molly’s talent first emerged during a three-year spell as a member of the Mandy Ellen School of Dance. Having appeared in stage productions across the county, she flew to Portugal earlier in the year to get a taste for performing overseas.

During the summer she was spotted by an agent and offered the chance to show off her skills in India, home to the world’s biggest film industry.

Rob, who also has a younger daughter, Daisy, said: “Molly’s absolutely loving it out there.

“She’ll come back enriched from this experience and her dance portfolio enhanced.

“This is the culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication.”
