Police appeal for witnesses to assault which left man unconscious in Minster, Sheppey

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault which left a man unconscious on the ground.

At about 8pm on Saturday, it is reported that a man in his 40s was attacked by another man while walking across the car park of The Playa pub on The Leas in Minster, Sheppey.

The victim fell to the floor and lost consciousness.

He suffered cuts, bruises and a chipped tooth. He was taken to hospital for further treatment.

A 25-year-old Islander was arrested on Monday on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.

A beer festival had been staged at the pub earlier that day.
