Oasis Academy students on Sheppey achieve record-breaking results

The Oasis Academy on Sheppey is celebrating its best ever post-16 results.

Described as a "small and tightly-knit group", 14 students sat full A-levels in eight subjects and nine of them achieved A* to Cs, which is 61% compared to last year's 39%.

Overall, 94% of the 50 students who took exams are leaving the academy with three A-levels or their equivalent - which is up from 70% last year and 40% three years ago.

Principal John Cavadino said: "We are deeply proud of our students’ success this year and that we have not only sustained but significantly improved on the record breaking results of 2016.

"Our sixth-form students are a small and tightly-knit group this year, who have supported one another to do their best.

Ivana Spocchia received an A in psychology and Bs in law and English and will be going to the University of Sussex to study media practice.
