Queenborough Road closed as firefighters free injured person

Firefighters had to free a woman from a crash involving a Ford Ka and a flat-bed truck in Queenborough Road, Halfway on Monday morning.

Police closed the road from 9.45am while two crews cut out the car’s door to allow two paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service to treat the woman.

She was taken to hospital for checks but was not thought to have been seriously injured.

Bus company Arriva had to alter some of its routes while vehicles were diverted.

Services 360, 362 and 368 to and from Rushenden (both directions) were running via Brielle Way.

Service 334 is running via Brielle Way; stops on Queenborough Road, Minster Road, Minster Broadway and Marine Parade were not served.

Passengers for Minster were told to get off in Sheerness and catch the 360 or 362 towards Minster.

Kent Highways said the road was reopened at 12.45pm.
